Seen a bit of anti buffalo bill rants on here recently.

I don't live or work in london. I doubt I would recognise bill if I saw him. What I do recognise is the sterling work he has done in raising the profile of cycling and messengering not just in london, but across the whole of the country. I don't see why people feel the need to kick off against a person who works tirelessly for all our interests, whether messenger or not.

Bill mate, If you're ever in manchester let us know. I, and I am sure many others, will buy you a pint.

    Good Work Sir!

Actually I was lucky to have the first names John Thomas. My dad and his dad were both JTs.

So I was stuck with the initials W.C. instead.

I do live just outside London and find myself cycling in and through London almost daily depending on where I am working that day. I am not a messenger but appreciate this site and Bills tireless efforts in bringing to the fore issues like the HGV's. I am now more wary about manouvering around these types of vehicles because of this site raising awareness and know that on at least one occasion it has stopped something serious possibly happening to me, as a large skip lorry suddenly swung left into the bus lane without signaling just as I was slowing down as I had a hunch it may happen as you could tell he was getting impatient by the sound of his engine revving etc. Any way just wanted to say cheers to Bill and all you others who bother to contribute to this site often its way over my non messenger head but I persevere and appreciate it. Cheers

I'm in a similar boat to MJ (not a messenger but cycle daily in central London and like remaining alive). I'd also like to add a vote of thanks to BB for this and other efforts to make cycling in London tolerably pleasant and safe.

ObUsefulBit: If anyone's after some cheap carbon forks, Edinburgh Bicycle have 4ZA Fenix's for £49 (rather than £99) at the moment. I've had them on my bike for a while and they seem to do a creditable job of holding the bars and wheel apart.

BB/moving target have been very influential in drawing attention to risks from HGV's.
I'm sure that more than one serious accident has been avoided as a result of MT.
The old Hebrew saying "To redeem one person is to redeem the world" is apt.
    Peace

I met Bill in the street yesterday and he recognised me from two days i did at Creative well over ten years ago. He's not a Buffalo, he's an elephant.

Seeing as Jeff was still controlling at CC then, make that well over 12 years ago!

yeh, my memory isn't that great. I have no recollection of Jeff. mind, and not in a good way, anyone who has worked with me is unlikely to forget it unless they are fortunate enough to suffer a serious head injury
