http://www.flickr.com/photos/brixtonpista/2472005156/ Come and say BYE BYE to Ian!!! London Broil's going away cat.Meet up at duke after work ,starting from under the bridge rather earlier than later. Fiver in,all profit goes to London Emergency Fund.
That was so much fun. The first of many for me. Learnt the important lesson of if you can't find the checkpoint, don't spend 15mins cycling around looking for it... you'll come DFL! (though for the record a few guys rolled in behind me as I was accepting my amazing DFL hat) Cheers to Nhatt for the afterparty, that's an amazing place you have...
Damn, that was a great fun! Proper messenger work...original alleycat. Thanx Ian... ...so what's next...hills, marrige, kids, beer belly, watching tv(...oh sorry there are no Eastenders in Sanfran?)...
1st place- URBAN 2nd shared place- MONKEY and RICKY 3rd place-ASIN 1st female- NHATT DFL- ALEX
Thanx to everyone who showed up and to all the marshalls. 10 checkpoints on two different manifests (one west, one east). Two buckfast drinking checkpoints, one of them was also whipping checkpoint (I believe that photographs were being taken there). 32 riders registered, the winner finished after approx. 55 minutes. Its worth mentioning that Urban showed up at the finish maybe 1 minute before Ricky and Monkey Boy and Nhatt beat second female-Chandra-only by a minute or two. Prizes were sponsored by HOUSE OF PISTARD and JANKY DISCOPORATED. After covering our costs,a bag with undisclosed amount of dosh(£100 + I reckon) was handed over to London Courier Emergency Fund.Again thanx to everyone involved and extra thanx to people who did not raced but made donations to LCEF. Good luck across the pond Ian.
Was good fun indeed, thanks to everyone that sorted the whole thing out. I still can't believe how fast some of you guys are, tis fucking crazy. Anyone know where I can check out those spanking pics?
fromemory: >Learnt the important lesson of if you can't find the checkpoint, don't >spend 15mins cycling around looking for it.
Just because theres a checkpoint doesnt mean Ian remembered to send anybody there.. (what happened to twitch anyway?) I did sign for someones waiting time though. Honestly, I thought more people had been through before I got there, which is why I left early. Also, I ran out of beer.
Special prize for Nh@ for getting ITV security to sign for a folded piece of paper addressed to "Mr Twitchy Mcgee".
Not really so much of a race report, but I put a little (actually quite a lengthy) account of this, being my 1st alleycat, on my blog. http://moonshoot.blogspot.com/
