so my flat-mate moved out recently and left lots of things behind. i've offered up stuff on the hackney and haringey freecycle websites to no avail. i even tried the urban75 site, but no one bloody wants this stuff!
i just can't bring myself to throw away perfectly good food, yet i can't eat it (my body hates me and i am allergic to sugar and dairy), and so i am wondering if anyone here wants it?
(she is swiss-german, so a lot of this stuff is from there. all the items are in date unless otherwise noted.)
- unopened box of instant mashed potatoes. - 1 packet of risotto rice. (it says exp: 10/07, but it's rice, can it really go off that quick?) - 2 unopened boxes of couscous. (1 aromatic pesto & herbs, 1 'spice sensation'.) - 1 sachet of sundried tomato couscous. - unopened jar garlic powder. (it says exp: 06/07, but can it really go off that quick when still plastic sealed?) - 1 unopened jar of italian seasoning. - 1 unopened sachet of 'salad' seasoning. - 4 unopened packets of crepe / pancake mix. - an unopened packet of marshmallows. - some straws. - an unopened bag of sugar free mint sweeties. - an unopened sachet of some tasty looking cake mix thingy. - an unopened box of lasagne. - open bottle of multi-vitamin pills. - open bottle of vitamin e pills. - can of kidney beans - apricot jam (unopened) - can heinz tomato soup - sacla sundried tomato pesto (unopened)
does anyone want it? failing that, could someone recommend a charity i can at least give all this food too?
i am in seven sisters, but don't mind travelling a little to give it to whoever wants it. although i won't go too far, since it's bloody heavy! although, if sleepy feels nice, maybe he'll help with the transportation...
you should see all the stuff i can't throw away, from telewest cable box remotes, to nokia phone chargers (i do not, and never have had, a nokia), to lampshades. i need help. i thought freecycle was my lifeline, until, that is, i was SPURNED!!!
thanks for the link k97. i had a look at their site, but it seems like they are vegan? not much of this stuff will be any good to them then.
I used to have a really bad hoarding habit - then I moved into a tiny studio. Then my significant other moved in. Had to downsize. But still got about 50 messenger t-shirts from 10 years ago that I never wear.
not to brag here, but i've never had a telewest connection, so i consider my hoarding habits superior in this respect. ;)
i dread to think what amount of crap i'd still have if i lived in one country. luckily i get to down-size massively once every few years, taking nothing other than clothes, bike, laptop and cats to the next country. next time i'm aiming to take sleepy too. weeeeeee!
