hi,in the process of building a new bike and need some opinions on what wheels to buy. Not big on bike knowlegde but but have used velocitys for ages and have no props with them but want a bit of change. So i guess the question is what wheels do u swear by?
goldtec hubs 100p/cent! talk to greg @ london feilds cycles.. he built me rear wheel bout 4 year ago never an prob still true an solid and ive done 1000s of miles on it!! failing that ask big ian or jos to look afta you! true seen!!
lol, i just wanted to talk about wheels but i think someone did get pwned.About the hed wheel, na i just always wanted to have one regardless of it being abit of a fashion accessory now adays.
I use Ellipse wheels as training wheels on my pursuit bike, but I wouldn't recommend you use them for work unless you can afford to run spare wheels whilst you wait a few months for the importer to get rims/spokes in stock. Same thing for all factory wheels... good til they break. Go for handbuilts, and if a spoke breaks, you can grab a replacement from any shop and you're up and running again.
I'd recommend DT Swiss aero rims (deep section, lighter and better made than Velocitys) if you want the aero wheel look, with Goldtech hubs. Like Wayne said, Get Greg at London Fields to build them for you, he's forgotten more than you ever knew about bikes.
