well alright, we can keep some of the old stuff but that steel/concrete bullshit is rubbish unless it's done like this:

    not rick astley

they're actually self powered and provide clean energy to neighbouring buildings on top of being unbelievably cool. i would have no problem with the square mile being flattened for these to be built.

i didn't, but i'm sure my g/f will propose a better reason than that as to why i'd actually like to live in one.

btw dazzler- sorry i couldn't find you to say bye on friday, i just had to leave. the soundsystem hurt my head, the djing was pitifully uninspiring and the crowd for the most part were idiots. this city deserves more tbh.

I would be scared going into the loading bay in that thing let alone in a glass lift up it.

Sounds like you were in the wrong place, Defcon Zero was fuckin ace friday night.

Sealed or loose bearings? What's the make? Did you put it in yourself?

It's an FSA one, brand new. I did put it in myself (with some assistance) and we put it in pretty tight.

I used a bit of grease but maybe not enough??

did you copperslip the spindle before attaching the cranks?

nope. never heard of that or would even have thought of it. is it common practice?

i wonder if it's just courting trouble putting alu cranks on a ti axle anyway

without copperslip you are, the 2 metals of different reactivities will form an electrostatic bond if held together for a long period of time (the combination of ti on ali is the best known for this). using copperslip means that the components do not bond to each other because they just try to bond to the copper in the grease. basically- get to a bike shop IMMEDIATELY!!! otherwise you're going to have to grind your cranks to remove the bottom bracket when you get round to it, bad news. i don't know but you may also find it stops the horrible noises.
