Hey! I know this sounds like a completely crazy idea but I just changed my cleats the weekend after my first 'pull out' i.e. not another month after- when the bolt-heads are completely worn into the cleat and you have to get that strange pokey-scrapey tool out of your swiss-army knife to open up the allen-key* heads enough so you can get the allen-key in to get the old ones out, it only took seconds instead of the usual 1/2 an hour!!! Now if only I can remember to do the same thing with my SIDI soles.
* If you don't have a swiss-army knife the smallest flat-head screw driver in your tool box
the number of times I've almost entered the other discussion ' embarrassing crashes' wearing cleats like that too many to remember. you know how it goes clip-in pull off from lights pull-out bike sways one way you sway 'tother bike swings back you swing in opposite direction all the time with leg performing jerky circles in the air. Christ only knows how I haven't planted it so-many times. Actually I suspect christ is going 'deck it you f**king atheist that'll teach you for doubting me' Every time I stay upright is a victory for Darwkins
