The full results of the holy shit scavenger hunt are:Wookie 1st,Bongo 2nd,Canadian Dave 3rd.
Maybe we can award these points:
    Wookie 100
    Bongo 70
    Can Dave 30
Josh if you want to change this feel free.

you can't announce this as first race in a series 'post' the event. Come on now...

    what Darren said

like I said to you OD and emailed to the twitch before when he was talking about putting on a series the most important thing is you have to have rules including the points for each position announced before the series begins, fundamental

and that wasn't even an alleycat
  1.
    what Josh said

(apart from the bit about it not being an alleycat)

although 100/50/30 for 1st 2nd and 3rd sounds pretty straightforward and would be easy to record if a series was taken up??

    -100 points for artycat :-)
  2.
You've put the alleycat amongst the pigeons, there, Dazz!

Right I wrote a bloody essay about this for Twitch before so I'll just paste it here.

Whether that was an alleycat I suppose is just a matter of definition, not in the classic sense but who cares, it would have been worthy of being part of a series, there were some suggested rules in the email about length/format of races but I've cut them now, variety is good innit

Anything that breaks packs up in races is good, I have thought that for some time now and what happened in Chicago today made me think about that a lot today, and not too keen on organising a series right now.

    Essay begins:

I think you should aim for 4 or 5 races, and the best 3/4 or 4/5 from each racer count for points (one or two not counting allows people to organise and still have a chance in the series), winner decided by who got most wins then seconds etc if there is a tie.

    have some basic rules EG:

    must be £5 to enter.
at least two weeks notice on MT of when + where they are being held and that they count for the series
Friday nights or Saturday afternoons only

cannot start from the John Snow
no checkpoints that have silly tasks >30 seconds
must finish somewhere we can drink

After that you can let anyone organise the actual races and its the race organisers responsibility that they comply (and make sure everyone knows beforehand you aint responsible for the individual races!)

Also I would suggest points down to 20th is perfect but that they shouldn't be proportionate, so winning is more rewarded than mid pack finishes, this is normal in all types of bike racing eg points for BCF road races:

    any particular reason?

The Snow is OK but not on Fridays, I put that in as a joke to Twitchy, but half serious Duke & Foundry are both much better places for large groups to congregate & races to start IMO.

i thought someone might have been naughty and caused hassle with the local yokels. we can but hope. gotta say i quite like a dufus place start tho...
  4.
We used to start in Vine Hill, but after the start list started to top 15 on a reg basis we had to move round the corner.

It's inviting trouble to start ACs from the Snow regular.

For what it's worth here is my opinion.
Josh your points grid is very pretty. But I think it is too complicated. My system is very simple for I am a simple man.I will be employing my system with or without you.I would not like to come 20th under your "rules".No pun intended but what's the point? Also, there are too many rules in our society already without adding your ones!An alley-cat does not have to be announced on this site!!!An alley-cat can start wherever it likes!!!!I will march forth with my plans. They are not evil.I am an army of one.
If anyone wishes to take issue with my good self over these matters I will challenge them to a duel of fisticuffs!!
    I have not finished.
There is a madman at the helm of this website. He is a megalomaniac who craves control!
Flee,I tell thee, flee his satanic clutches!!!
    He wants your souls!
    Of this I am certain.

    Been drinking at work?

Fair enough John, if you're taking on the series good luck its yours to do as you wish just let us know beforehand what rules there are otherwise there will be fighting after the racing (but maybe you would like that?)

Twitchy was going to run points down to 20th with 20 for 1st so thought that would be a better way for points to 20th, if you want to do just top 3 it makes it very easy to keep track and a lot easier for the race organisers who don't have to count all finishers, and you are right who gives a fuck about any place outside the top 3 anyway?

Maybe that is why he is a van controller?
  5.

Josh your support is welcome.I had visions of conflict and they were not pleasant!
There is an alley-cat coming up that I'm working on called Old school. It will be short and fast as is my sex life though I shant expect anyone to fake orgasm.
This alley-cat will have no sponsors.I will put up some cash and it will be added to the pot.I am prone to almighty f*ck-ups so be forewarned.Nothing is set in stone yet.
This will be my gift to you all.

Josh, this morning before I left for work I watched the Mr Men show. In this episode Mr Bounce goes to the shoe shop which is run by Mr Scatter-brain.Mr Bounce asks for a pair of shoes and Mr Scatter-brain starts knitting.Again Mr Bounce asks for a pair of shoes then Mr Scatter-brain disappears. He returns with a pair of ukeleles and puts them on Mr Bounces' feet.Josh as you can see from your link I wanted movement on the alley-cat series quite a while ago but all I got was a pair of f*cking ukeleles .They were very uncomfortable.
I am in no way comparing anyone to Mr Scatter-brain.
