    So whose got any tips on second careers? extra monies? next incomes? I have a sweet one in my mind, but requires some tinkering, but with all this fucking sitting around I wondered if anyone else had some second line money shit going on. apart from dealing.

    I'm a producer/DJ and play regular gigs, which really helps with the rent and stuff. It's gonna get tough to write quite as often and with as much energy once I get on the circuit, but I'm just going to have to make it work. On a good night I can make a month's rent in an hour, on a shit night maybe 50 quid for a set.

    mmmmmm psy-trance, not been into that kinda stuff for a while, was never quite the same after tyssen st/drome closed down, but whatever floats your boat. either way, making money from music is no mean feat whereas almost anyone can be a messenger, if you've got something going on with the tunes then don't let messengering take away from that.

    I write as Fromem Ory, for Liquid Records. Check out http://www.myspace.com/fromemory. Got a few other projects in different genres as well, like acoustic guitar and downtempo n stuff. It pays ok, but not quite getting the bills in consistently, and when I'm short of inspiration I can spend weeks in frustrated boredom. Summer should be good, got a tour in Brazil and some international festivals and stuff, so might take a short break from messengering, but even at that level it's still relatively underground and it's still relatively not paying the big-ass London bills plus supporting any sort of social life. As it stands now I haven't even got cash to buy credit for my mobile, which I think could be important for my first week next week. Let alone food! Can't wait for that first cheque...

    Anyway, paying bills isn't the only reason for choosing messengering. I just fucking love cycling, and get a great buzz from zoomin' in traffic :)
