The Road Rage programme on Beeb1 at 9pm gave a few priceless moments of viewing this evening. It looked at the the 'chaos' that we're all descending into on our streets (tell us something new). Some interesting choice of footage of Critical Mass (all 'anarchists' apparently) and the Naked Bike ride. The school-run mum arguing with a traffic warden about how she was supposed to get her children to ballet classes in time without using her 4x4 was highly amusing. The producers must have rubbed their hands together when the cops busted a messenger going through a red. Emma Davies-Jones (Commonwealth medalist) moved to Belgium where everyone 'shares' the road, after her near death experience outside the Manchester Velodrome when a van driver turned across her and broke her back before speeding off.

But the most moving part of the programme was the mother of a female cyclist (apologies for not remembering the name) killed by a left turning cement mixing lorry. She was shown talking, along with CCTV stills of her daughter's death, of how she wasn't allowed to see her daughter to say goodbye after her death because the lorry had run over her head. That one's gonna stay with me a looooong time.

As some people may have already heard, I had a nasty incident with the police having being stopped by the police for jumping two red lights and they claim i was refusing to stop...They apprehended me from their police van by pulling me off my bike while on the move, as i was coming to a stop (having realised they had the sirens on for me)...then they cuffed me and were exactly gentle in their handling of me and repeatedly called me an a***hole courier amongst other obscenities...to cut a long story short...got a few hours in the cells and a court appearance in a few days to boot....bastards
  5.
    meant werent exactly gentle
  6.
AD, was this recently? Or were you the rider in the programme last night?
  7.
why is this programme not on the bbc iplayer for fucks sake
  8.
don't worry, i'll tell you in brief what it was about: cars - bad, peds - good, nudes_on_bikes_blocking_roads - good, critical_mass_'anarchists'_blocking_roads - bad, cyclists_shooting_lights - bad, cyclists(but not couriers)_crushed_by_a_lorry - good (forgive me that sarcasm), all_the_couriers - bad. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting the program's message.

Big Al saw it, and he said that the central message seemed to be that there are too many cars on the road, and that people were stupid.

    statement obvious bleeding
  10.

Just remembered another classic from that prog. I think it was the 4x4 mum ranting at the traffic warden. She was saying something like, 'If I keep bringing these tickets home my husband's gonna start taking the money out of my clothing allowance!'.

    It's another world...

I had to pay £195 and i'm sure i've heard people get not much more for killing people on the road, the system stinks
  16.
Just tell House of Pistard you're getting deported if you don't pay and they can sort out another tee run. Once they've perfected their PDA stylus...
  17.
£195 for jumping red lights on a bike? what a fucking joke.
  18.
yeah...because it was with being found not guilty of failing to stop for the police
