Hey there, i'm sure people have seen this add on gumtree.. Something about working on a "self employed Basis" (how fishy does that sound!) but sersious, should people be worried about joining them?
sounds normal....at least 90% of London couriers work on a self-employed basis.
If you're talking about the SMS ad....they are scum, they specialise in credit card deliveries and pay something ridiculously low per drop....a while back they lowered their rates and their riders complained and were all sacked....or summink like that....actually I'm not sure of the details but no doubt Bill will be.
Run by James Greenbury, who used to be my boss at SD (now citysprint) years ago.
It used to be a good place to make money. They changed the working practices (to include Saturdays) and the riders went on wild-cat strike in 2004 (actually around the time of SSS I. The riders lost.
What it's like now, I have no idea. They have the contract to deliver credit cards, so there's lots of work, but whether it's possible to make decent money anymore...
churchill is shit but better than some places to start. I guess. dont they have a reasonable garuntee? 250? or something. better then were i started. 175! and hardly ever beat it.
my friend worked with churchill for few months and to be honest he earn nothing. spend more money for fuel and other expenses than they give him job. standing by till 11am. giving job in difrent parts of London in same time. need in 20 min from city to woowich at 4pm.
they are tight ass
when he finished work with them he had nothing in pocket.
first week he earn about 120. 120-60 for fuel.
WOW !!! amazing wages!!!
they dont have any guarantee. just execuse that you know nothing.
I don't understand if you are having a dig, but the question marks show I was merely postulating. I did say it was shit. Sorry about your friend, he got proper bumped.
