I have a bit of an odd request but I don't exactly have tons of contacts in London, so I thought I ask here for ideas!
My friends in the Cherokee Arts and Humanities Council discovered that June 2012 will be the 250th anniversary of the date of the first delegation of Cherokee Chiefs traveling to London to meet the King. They are looking into sending a delegation (they are all grant writing geniuses!) and were wondering about possible institutions in London that might be interested in hosting them or giving them venues. Or any tips on meeting with even low-level governmental representatives?
The CAHC is made up of visual artists, writers, animators, etc. and they regularly do cultural presentations for groups (including stomp dances and animal dances). They are primarily located in rural Cherokee and Adair Countries, Oklahoma.
Any ideas jump to mind? Cheers, America Meredith (SFBMA charter member, SF messenger for 17 different companies in 9 years)
