We have carried out a review of all courier charges and deductions and plan to make a number of changes to these at the beginning of October. The changes will start to apply from Monday 11th October - the first time that they will appear on self-billing invoices will be weekending 22nd. Charges relating to CityTrakkers will only apply to existing couriers once you have been issued with a new CityTrakker2.
There are a number of reasons for the changes:
* The new CityTrakker2 is currently being rolled out across the business (the Regional business is completed and the London roll out has started). These new units are a vast improvement on the old units and use the latest technology - the GPS is built in, they are far more robust, battery life is better. This ensures that used correctly, they will increase your earning potential and reduce your damage costs.
* We want to phase out the need for taking deposits for equipment from you.
* We want to clarify exactly what you get in return for all deductions.
* We want to simplify charges.
A list of all the new charges that we will be making is shown below and depending on what equipment and services you use, some or all of the charges will apply to you.
1. CityTrakker Hire Charges - all new couriers joining CitySprint will pay £15.95 + VAT per week to hire a CityTrakker (where radios are issued, this will be included in the single charge). The new CityTrakker units have a value of circa £800 2. CityTrakker Hire Charges all existing couriers will benefit from a reduced CityTrakker hire charge of £10.95 + VAT (where radios are issued, this will be included in the single charge).
Included in both charges above:
* Except in cases of negligence the maximum liability that a courier will have for lost/stolen/damaged equipment will be £100 per incident. Currently in such cases couriers are liable for the full value of equipment.
1. Fuel Cards– an administration charge of £1.00 + VAT per week will now be applied to all holders of fuel cards. This charge will apply whether the card was used during the week or not. 2. Other Charges– Charges made to couriers for (i) shirts etc, (ii) goods in transit and (iii) special equipment (Healthcare Couriers) will be charged at £1.50 + VAT per week for each item ((i), (ii) or (iii)). These charges will be rolled up into one line on your invoice, descriptions as follows:
* Courier Pack Type 1 = £1.50 shirts etc & £1.50 GIT Total £3.00 + VAT
* Courier Pack Type 2 = £1.50 shirts etc, £1.50 GIT & £1.50 special equipment Total £4.50 + VAT
* Courier Pack Type 3 = £1.50 GIT only Total £1.50 + VAT
* Courier Pack Type 4 = £1.50 shirts etc only Total £1.50 + VAT
NB All new motorcycle couriers will pay £1.50 + VAT per week for bibs, radio bag etc (equivalent of shirts etc in Courier Pack Type 1, 2 & 4 above)
Existing Deposits
There will be two options available to you with regards to any existing equipment deposits that we hold:
(a) We will continue to hold your existing deposits, which will be returnable to you in the normal way when you cease to offer your services to CitySprint. (b) You may choose to offset the deposit against future charges - for example, if we hold a £250 deposit you could have your charges reduced to zero per week for a period of 16 weeks.
It is important that you let us know which option you would prefer - this can be done by visiting the Fleet Department to confirm. We will assume that you want to go with option (a) above unless you let us know otherwise.
"We want to phase out the need for taking deposits for equipment from you."
Reminds me of that time I was mugged by 3 pissed-up suits outside The Old Axe, they said...
"We want to phase out the need of visiting you at home in order to enforce a coercive money sharing arrangement when we can quickly and ably come to a synergistic agreement here in the street."
"The new CityTrakker units have a value of circa £800"
Just did a search for "most expensive pda" and "most expensive mobile GPS enabled device". All I can come up with is the new 'ipad 3G', weighing in at £766. Is this the future of the City Sprint pushbike fleet? Video conferencing with your controller?
