Thought I'd start a thread about road surfaces - well its what you do if your sick and at home bored isn't it?
Seriously though this deserves a mention
Firstly to whom it may concern, THANKS for resurfacing Chiswell St and Seymour St, I tip my hat and my arse doesnt send an 'what the fuck are you doing Charlie putting me through this again?' message of pain to my brain when I have to drop down there any more.
Chancery Lane should be next on the list for a resurface - its sketchy as hell with potholes, ruts and raised drains.
Why cant every road be like that lovely marbly smooth bit of Regent St by Oxford Circus? That should be standard in Central London and reflect the status of it being the great UK capital it should be.
Local councils have a duty to ensure roads are maintained, but if they don’t know about a pothole, they can’t fill it in. So if you want to get it repaired, you have to report it. CTC, the UK’s national cyclists’ organisation, is asking all road users to report potholes and hazards on this website.
We contact the right people for you to get the roads repaired. Anecdotally, we know that the majority of potholes reported on www.fillthathole.org.uk are filled quickly, although local councils don’t always tell us as soon as they have fixed the problem.
Reporting potholes can make cycling safer for everyone. Report a pothole now."
