Just read your response to Matt Seattons article on the red light crime wave, the other red light crime. I am guilty of both the criminal and anti-social behaviour he high lights, to me red lights mean "give way" if I am not endangering others first and then myself. I personally wait at pedestrian crossings if in use but the myopic walkers must accept they have a responsibilty to others. We all have to share the same space. Having ridden motorcycles for 25 years I was f-----g alarmed at the venemous response towards cyclists from other road users, the media and government. I thought "bikers" were the scum. Short sightedness in buckets. It wont be long before all new borns are issued with a bar code and a Hi-Viz jacket. Love the site, dysfunctional media at its worst...
I agree. When there is nothing coming and the light's are red, I wait for the ped's to clear then i cruise thru slowly like, even if the light's are not showing the green man (What am I if I ain't a green man, petrol and all..) In my eye's, empty road = poorly managed traffic. Especially if the red light has a tailback behind it.
