Well then. The bird is my sister and she comes gratis courtesy of God. The place is India, near a town called Sulthan Batheri in Kerala.
If you've ever fancied the experience of lazily regarding a succession of hazy, shimmering sunsets whilst flocks of wild peacocks, butterflies and fruit bats swoop over your head whilst you spoon sweet, coconut curry into your mouth from a banana leaf as the sound of children chanting, bells ringing and ten thousand flogs chirruping floats across the cardamom, vanilla and tea plantations that stretch out down the valley in front of you then I highly recommend a trip over there. It's nice.
Plus you don't need a licence to rent a 500cc bike and the cops can be bribed with 2 or 3 quid if you get stopped. Inyt Zack? Tell 'em.
I tell ya the bikes are amazing. Just yesterday i was trying to ride from Leh to Manali. I nearly got to the top of the second highest motorable pass in the world, 5400m, with a passenger and 2 heavy bags, but the snow was too deep. We tried, we needed to get through 17km's of it just to get to the top but an army vehicle turned us back as they got within 5km's and it was too deep.
You will pick a good 350cc bullet up for 30 000 rupees, fix a few things then you can ride through and up anything. I recommend doing Kashmir to Leh, absolutely spectacular, must be seen!
