Like a muppet I got a £30 ticket for "contravening automatic traffic signal"but the f*ckers got my date of birth wrong. Can I get away with not paying on a technicality? This is a serious question!
Id like to know the answer to this one too... Ive got a long overdue ticket, but they omitted to ask my DOB and wrote my address wrong so I aint paid it... Is it gonna come back to haunt me?
no, you cannot get away with it on such a technicality, I'm afraid - there was a same question on lawanswers.co.uk several times, although this website seems to be down now.
Obviously it's difficult to send a summons or whatever it's called if they don't have a person's address, but spelling mistakes etc. don't invalidate the ticket
Id say JP got away with it. When someone gets stopped and gives a false name, there surley has to be someone out there with that actual name? So if they dont have the correct address and date of birth to go with it, I would say "sorry office but I think they gave you a false name, I just happen to have that name" Overdrive, I recon they got you sir. I would say they have one 2 many matching details to claim it was not you. Sorry chap
Yeah city motorbike police seem to, to stop you saying that it must have been someone else giving a fake name. At least they did it to me, maybe they just didn't like my face.
fuck off overdrive, you have asked a question an answer to which I read about 40 times, so there you had it. Now get back to your coffee or whatever it is you got in your brown bag
Had to remind myself of how utterly f*cking thick you are.You start a thread about dead couriers, you assume we don't know each other, you question why we would want to pay our respects to our dead friends, you respond to our indignation with smug disregard and creepy, unfathomable rubbish. You're a f*cking weirdo who somehow has ended up on this forum and if I had my way I'd have you banned. You don't even ride a bicycle you cnut! This is the last time I'll respond to the shite you post here but if I ever meet you the response you get will be physical and f*cking quote me on that.
Hopefully I'll get away with it. I was told by the 50 once, when one of these £30 fines turned into a warrant for my arrest, that "Name and DOB" are the identifying factors. That time they had the wrong address.
Regardless of the comments, oberdribble is a donut and lets not take Porno chaps intimidating threats too seriously. He is just full of the snorting courage and nothing more than an angry little man.
yet both of them are posting using their nicknames which are known to all. you profess to know the pair of them but are using a fresh account, with a name (i strongly suspect) no one recognises. which makes you a _____.
Well then overdrive, glad to know you're a person who lives in the past. I'm on this forum cause I like reading interesting people and believe it or not - every now and then there is something interesting being written here. Not too often of course, and definitely not by you :)
Regarding who I am and what I ride you guessed wrong, there is a bike or two on the list of my modes of transport!
Hope you have a good day and don't get overexcited, remember each our breath takes us closer to our death.
Oi! I'm the bastard who comes on here and hides behind an alias to insult and offend. **** off Maurycy! Oh look! A dead cyclist under a left turning lorry! Ha-ha-ha!
so they have the wrong date of birth, you could deny its you. Then they might ask for an appearance and the ticketing officer may be able to identify you so they can clarify the mistake. In the process, they may realise they are more than sure that you are the offending person and therefore feel inclined to pursue this with other offences, proving false information relating to an offence, your word against theirs, more hassle, more fines.
Its only 30 quid, you were in the wrong, its a fair cop gov, caught redhanded.
red lights - the last opportunity for civil disobedience. The condition of being free; no escape from sanction or immunity from obligation. We are in a dictatorship - lets punish the punishable.
I see Overdrive is building up a head of steam. This reminds me of the time i accidentally threw away his copy of the Bhagavad Gita into the skip outside Metro, along with other unwanted goods. He arrived to work and went about his morning ritual of scrounging through the skip for scrap metal, half eaten sandwiches and cigarette butts. He obvioulsy found the book and went into a fiery irishman's rage. He marched into the rider's room, firstly punched a proverbial hole in the ceiling, then grabbed poor speedfast round the neck and sprayed him with an angry rant. It continued just outside the riders room where Zack was thrown into a car destroying a wing mirror.
Just tell them that the last guy that lived at your place had the same name as you and you have only just moved in...
