Lovely city but an expensive place to play in. Might still be snowing at the end of April. Not sure if they've put the trams in yet but there were almost as many roadworks as in London when I was last up there. Rooms are a rip off and there's a shortage of cheap eateries. Even Leith's gone up market and gay and that's the old docks. On a BH weekend I'd be surprised if you could get a return rail ticket for less than £80, even if you book now. Overnight coaches are quick and cheap. Leave at 10 or so and get in at 6. I think you can still get a £25 return if you book online. Avoid Megabus like you'd avoid Special Delivery or Vanguard.
Registration fee is £17.50 for early birds, £20 on the day. This pays for 7 events including the main event, track time, mass start race, and entry into the club night. Email SCMA@hotmail.co.uk for details about how to pay.
Shaping up to be a brilliant event.
Get yersel' a railcard and the trains are £60 return. Coaches are in the region of £12-15 each way, though book now.
We also have a hostel booked because Edinburgh fills up fast, email if you're needing a spot.
There are a couple of spaced left in my van for the BICCC. We'll be leaving Whitechapel at 0900 on Friday. There are a few hostel places left in Glasgow and the trip up and back will be free.
Thanx to the organisers for putting on a great weekend of brutal hill racing and for taking pity on me by awarding the winners main race prize to yours truly!
fracking FANTASTIC weekend. Rode the Meadowbank velodrome Fri night, Time trial round Edinburgh followed by Rollapaluza on Sat and race out by Silverknowes (on the banks of the Firth of Forth) on Sunday, all mixed in with the standard drinking too much with seriously lovely people.
Rollapaluza are going up to support this years BICCC.
There are 2 or 3 spaces in my van available for people and bikes to come too, we will be leaving the east end on Friday morning and arriving back in London on Monday early evening. You will not have to pay for transport.
If you are interested email me on info@rollapaluza.com
