Following a minor altercation with his previous company, the man who is possibly London's longest continuously-serving cycle courier may well be seeking gainful employment. He has no chance of finding any, so he'll have to find work as a courier again. So, here's a chance for all of you office bods who come on here, pretending you're still couriers, to sign up one of the very last On Yer Bike riders still on the streets. I believe there are still three out there. Reader of obscure Icelandic novels, singer of even more obscure West Coast ditties and all round good egg, this is a rare opportunity for a circuit to acquire a genuine piece of history. So, come on....What's that?.....S.E.A.'s already signed him up? But I thought he'd been sacked on his previous appearance at that lot. I dunno. Some firms just don't harbour grudges long enough... Do they, Spiro?
Upon reflection I've decided that my original post here, although true, was a bit mean and I withdraw it on that basis.
Ricardo is welcome to come and see me and I will explain to him, face to face, why he will not be re-employed.
I hold no grudges against anyone, including Cat Weasel, life's too short.
I hold all riders, past & present, with the greatest respect. It is my absolute pleasure to work with, what I regard, as the greatest fleet in London.
We are, despite what some malicious, anonymous and in my view cowardly posters on here would have you believe, all in this together. This still can be a rewarding business for those who are professional and hard working.
Man, oh man - you just don't know about people do you? I was Ricardo's controller for a few years, and we had an understanding: no, he ain't fast, no, he don't work in the rain, yes, he will piss off the odd client (Friends Of the Earth?) - but, if you look after him, he'll do his best for you. And cook you top sweets too.
