Fuck me! The man is right. He never did work with me. I feel truly blessed. My days aren’t long and I get paid quite well. Bit of truth in that. Debate and expressing point of view i am all for as i have demonstrated, but you can't expect to subscribe to a forum which extends itself from wehatean individual to an uncalled for slagging off in a real unprofessional and very offensive manner of the actual company, and expect to continue working there. THe couriers are the ambassadors of the company. Everything else is there to support the courier (i know i'm opening a can of worms here). If you don't like something speak to your controller, or even speak to me and the situation will be resolved to a satisfactory manner. If still not happy leave. TheGood, check your invoice when you receive it, there could well be some errors on it , but you will see the increase and any queries you have go straight to Kev, Lee or Mark or even Kim in the hub and they'll be sorted straight away (As for misisng coa's don't believe everything you read) Couriers will be treated better than fairly at CitySPrint. Also new bags and uniform from canada coming shortly.

Well i personally don't work for CS or any other courier company anymore , but is one thing i couldn't find a satisfactory answer and always kept bugging me.Mind you mostly in an academic way.However it would be nice to know the story from the management side too.As far as i know when i joined CS it was explained to me very clear that i had to wear CS clothing at all times when on the road and i was made aware of the consequences if i would not comply --basically sacking-- , and CS went -has to be said- in some length trying to find suitable clothing for cyclists.But is the thread made thats bothering me.Trust me, i know you dont need to be a fashion guru to realize the dreadful impact some of the bicycle couriers wardrobe makes to the client perception , but one thing is fashion guidelines or dress code and another is to force a uniform .I mean i have served in the army were you supposed to wear everything as predicted by the manual and required by the official guidelines , and CS is not the army, or is it?

Waitng an answer on this one Mr Patton if you can consult your fleet manager that is.

It will be along the lines that if you want to be self employed and carry out work for us on our behalf, these are the conditions. Are they right or wrong? Again grey area.

If the company has supplied kit that fits its purpose and is comfortable then i believe they can specify that in the t & c's and as a courier why not take advantage of supplied kit. However, If they supply kit which isn't fit for purpose then it shouldn't be in t & c's. THats my opinion, and i'll expect a semi bollocking off my fleet manager for writing this i'm sure.

I know a lot of CS couriers wear the shirts, and i have asked that polo shirts be made available (only alternative at this date) but i also notice a lot of cyclone / reuter brooks bags being used on the CS fleet. Obviously fleet will not approve but my argument is until we supply something better, we almost have to adopt the laissez fair approach.

I'd encourage the fleet as they did in the bar (bags) to tell us what they need and i'll push the fleet dept to make it happen. its in the interests of CS to have a happy fleet (opening up another potential can of worms here i'm sure for responses), although happy will have to be a majority thing me thinks.
