yesterday afternoon whilst on a round i went to collect something going out of town. 20mins later after a few drops i arrive to deliver only to find envelope isnt in my bag! i then get a call saying its still sitting in the tray at the collection point. so i ride all the way back to pick up and then deliver it.

this would be a little comical if it wasn't that this is happening a lot i.e my forgeting things or convincing myself the package is going to an entirely different address to what it is. so what im getting at is am i just having a bad month or losing my memory? do i need to exercise my mind a bit more and take up soduko or summat.

it a good job its so quiet at the mo or id be fucked

Go + work for a firm with paper day sheets maybe

Don't trust yourself for awhile. And day sheets are good for keeping track of what you are actually supposed to be doing.

I had a stupid moment today - I was chatting up the receptionist at the end of a W/R, and completely forgot to get her signature! Luckily I wasn't going anywhere afterwards, so was still in the area when the controller noticed, and sent me back in. Could have been much worse...

I use to memorize the names -up to 4-5- before i stop to put them down to paper .That was when we were on paper.Of course as you guessing by that time half the names were fictional.I won't even go to the signatures.Lets just say that i had to re-invent myself several times during the day.And if the controller ask for a name and signature in the meantime then i had to pause ,start thinking, very hard, really hard ,try to remember that name, that face, anything that would bring back that name. And all that within 3-5 seconds.
A few times i did give out fake names as i was completely lost as to what was the real name ,oddly never seemed to make any difference.
The difference is the controller could not tell, all i had to do was to sound convincing over the radio.

    Professionalism or what?

Never lost a package. I did have an incident that possibly Bill will remember when a package fell into another package without me realizing. I delivered the package with the other one in it and then turned up and to the desk to deliver the other package but obviously couldn't find it. Had to go back to the first drop hoping my instinct that it fell into the bag was right and it was luckily. Well that was a great story wasn't it.

I was on Upper Thames St ahead of some lorry in, slogging thru slow moving traffic, on my first week in a new company. Then I heard the lorry driver honkin at me, was about to ignore him coz I was doing nothin bad ,then he kept on so I turned aroun to cuss him and seen him pointing to the road side. There was one of my my packages, (4-up), miraculously not crushed, that slipped out my shitty bag. Uh. Thanks mate.

I felt, well, pretty stupid. Saved by a lorry driver. Oh well ;)

I love: parcel fell out of bag in the Knightsbridge underpass, contents was an expensive bottle of perfume, which smashed inside packaging, soaking it, but the courier delivered anyway....class, can't remember who.

Winston - I know who that was, he's at Clone to this day and Creative still won't have him back..

I had a similar thing happen on Poland Street, jiffy fell out I felt it go but a cab immediately and deliberately ran it over, bursting the bag.. looked inside it was trainers which were still OK, jiffy bag had a very clear tyreprint on it when it was delivered though, they didn't care.

There is an exenger who once strapped two large Metro deliveries to the outside of his bag.It was raining.
He dropped off two items of papier mache.
