    Hey,
Currently the BMEF is going through a bit of a transition in who is running it all. It is currently based in the US and it is likely it will remain there which is not a great problem.

I have two things to ask of other messengers or non messengers in London.

1 Would anyone be interested in helping out when a claim is made to the BMEF, i cant always see the injured person as quick as i would like. It would be great if one, two or maybe more people would get involved to share out the load and support their community some more.

    2. What do people think about having a fund for the British Isles.

The reasoning for this is that we raise money here, paypal it to the US then claim it back every so often through paypal as well. We get charged for conversion with paypal so we lose some money, a little but money all the same.
Also it takes around 5 days for the money to be sent over here so it in turn delays how quick we can get the money to people.

If we start our own fund the money wouldnt be sent back and forth and we would also be able to respond quicker.

This is not an attempt to undermine the BMEF or anyone else involved in it, just an idea to share out a bit more of the responsibility of it.

For those who dont know what the BMEF is.. It is the Bicycle Messenger Emergency Fund. It exists to help messengers injured while working with a $300 payment and unable to work for at least a month.

More info to be found at

    Thank you for your time.

    Wee Scott x
