I've started a Flickr group called 'Messenger Town'. The blurb reads thus:

"Working as a cycle courier, or 'messenger' for any length of time gives one a heightened sense of the environment - of the city. This group exists for working couriers to display how they see their city, their working environment. It's not about bikes, it's not about messengers - it's about where we work.
Hopefully it will attract contributions from across the world, giving us all a chance to see the great cities as no-one else sees them."

Having now worked long term in two different cities, I find that a) I need reminding what London looks like when you're working, and b) I'm wondering what other cities look like from this perspective. Since I'm not gonna live long enough to explore many more of them, I need input from others.

..so I'm inviting contributions - London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow - Anchorage? San Fran? NY? WTF?

..it's an invite only affair so we can keep any discussion on the QT, so you have to ask me for an invite (I think that's how it works) - whisper me your emails.

..Bill - you wanna play? exengers allowed on special terms.

Interestingly, I've had a couple of requests to join from non-couriers who take 'lots of pictures of couriers and races'. Exactly what I don't want. This is about the courier experience. So, yes - no fakengers! As I mentioned tho, exengers with a good portfolio (Bill?) may get special exception.

No zero, listen man. I've knicked my girlfriends digital camera, cos I dont have one of my own, well i have a camera phone, which is badass, it has exposure compensation and a spot meter, and its actually better than the digital camera that i'm borrowing, but, the screen is being repaired, so i cant use it, but anyway tomorrow I'm gonna go out and bust a few shots, you know lick off a few frames, did you know i used to be a 'photographer', I take bad photos man, and I mean bad as in good. Anyway I'll have something for you tomorrow hopefully.
