After burning nuff carbs at work I never seem to get hungry enough to eat enough dinner to replace them. It feels like I'm forcing myself to eat. Should I start smoking cannabis so that I get the munchies? What are the pros and cons of this kind of appetite stimulation?
Good a reason as any I suppose. Then again every bodies different and you could be the one guy who never gets the munchies and then you've got another expensive hobby and your still to dam skinny. Of course I'd never advocate breaking the law.
As far as I remember from a level biology you shouldn't have to replace them in the evening. You eat carbs in the morning as fuel for your day, then at the end of the day eat proteins to help your muscles rebuild any damage caused during the day and thereby build them up to be bigger and stronger. I may be wrong though but yeah smoke weed anyway it's what all the cool kids are doing.
Nah man, I'm 100% sure carbs must be replaced in the evening, in addition to what you consume in the morning, and throughout the day. I can't be arsed to dig up any sports science websites or academic journals or any kind of evidence to back me up, so you'll just have to trust my gut feeling.
get it? gut feeling? as in the fact that i'm really fucking hungry? oh never mind. I'm off to Aldi
Oi! How dare you tell me I need to gain weight? I am offended, insulted and slightly upset. I am tempted to retaliate with immature comments about you being a one of those fat bastards who's hoarding all the body mass in the world and denying us skinny cunts the pleasure of having some, but no, I will resist, and instead stuff my face with Aldi pizza. £2.29 it was.
Besides, almost every source I've looked at says that the main component of every athlete's meal should be carbohydrate, and that us athletes need to have a big meal high in carbs (but obviously not lacking protein and fat) in the evening, firstly because those carbs replenish your depleted glycogen stores in your muscles and liver and secondly because you need to compensate for the fact that after you've gone to bed you're not going to be eating anything for about the next eight hours. Anyway if I'm wrong then why do I crave pasta and rice???!!?! Eh? Eh? Are you telling me that my gut feeling is lying to me? Eh?
iron eye is right, u must replenish ur glycogen stores after exercise, otherwise u will remain fatigued. however fats are the most energy rich source of food, so u need to make sure u get enough of them. protein has its role in repairing muscles, and u should make sure that u get plenty of it. really u want to be consuming high GI foods during work and straight after work. in the evening and especially the morning eat low GI foods in order to maintain your energy levels throughout the day.
Iron Eye, did you say pizza? I am oh so disapointed in you. Are Tofu and I the last of the vegan messengers in this country? What will I do when he goes back to Canada?
Nothing actually matters, that's what cleared up my existential worries, you are the creation of the universe that has learnt to experience itself and that's it, enjoy it.
Well Festerban, I came to pretty much the same conclusion, but because of that I now see no point in anything. Nothing excites me. I have no feeling. No care for anything. All I am is some molecules, a very finite entity. Now I see myself sitting in a room drinking cheap crap beer and waiting for it all to end instead of conquering the world and having a good time.
Fucking bastard universe contemplation, look what it's done to me.
Well you can do what you want with that realisation. I understand it can be quite daunting but I personally took it as an extremely liberating realisation, I am free to do whatever I want and I can shape my existence as I please with no repercussions. I am simply here to experience a human incarnation, when I die the molecules will disperse into the universe and I may someday experience the universe around me in another incarnation. By the way I'm stoned right now if this comes across a bit hippied out
