Who do you ride for? TLCS (Travel Logistics), although my contract will be terminated in February. Watch this space.

What was your first bike? Raleigh single speed for passing my 11+ exam in 1963.

What do you ride? I rotate through 3 bikes, two GT Vengeances and a Principia F28. All triathlon frames.

What’s the best docket you’ve ever been given? Nothing legit springs to mind.

What’s the worst thing about being a courier? 5.30pm, Friday, wet February, 6 deliveries on, slow puncture..

What’s the best thing about being a courier? 5.30pm, Friday, sunny June, 6 deliveries on, freshly serviced bike…

Who are your heroes? Christopher Marlowe, Oliver Cromwell, Maurice Talleyrand, Toussaint L’Ouvature.

What’s on your music player? Led Zepplin, Talking Heads, Jimi Hendrix, Roxy Music, Undertones, Hawkwind, The Troggs, Beach Boys, Lou Reed, Eurythimics, Adam and the Ants, XTC, Cream, Bowie, Pet Shop Boys, T.Rex, ZZ Top account for my 25 most played.

What’s the best piece of clothing/equipment you carry? Rear view mirrors.

What advice would you give to any wannabe couriers? Regularly update your last will and testament.

What’s the best lunch deal in town? My home made sandwiches.

Favourite place to stand by? Winter; T.K. Max, summer; Holland Park cafe.

What made you become a courier? Needed employment, had bike, loved riding it, get paid – seemed like a good deal!

What one thing would improve the quality of your life? a BMC TT02 of course!

Who’d play you in the film of your life? Sidney Poiter, if he’s still alive and fit.
