How old are you? 37

Where were you born? Sidcup.

How long have you been a courier? Since autumn ’96.

Hang Name? Superkid.

Who do you ride for? Creative.

What was your first bike? I think it was a Budgie, the small version of a Chopper.

What do you ride now? A steamroller, indy fab mountain bike, christiania, an old bmx, and a beer bike.

What’s the best docket you’ve ever been given? The urgent ones are always the most fun.

What’s the worst thing about being a courier? Standing by.

What’s the best thing about being a courier? Going to the championships.

Describe your childhood in 3 words. Small. Medium. Large.

Who are your heroes? I wouldn’t say they were heroes but Luk Brokenheart and Bill have been really impressive over the years in as much as how much they’ve done for the messenger community.

What’s on your music player? amon tobin, the fall, evil nine, boredoms, plump djs, lcd soundsystem, kid koala, coldcut, holy fuck, dinosaur jr, sonic youth, go! team, atari teenage riot, bikini kill…

What’s the best piece of clothing/equipment you carry? A reload bag that i bought in 2000. Yasu did a great job re-lining it and I did a pretty sketchy job replacing the strap and it lasted since then being used pretty much daily.

What advice would you give to any wannabe couriers? It’s easy to be a courier, it’s just tricky to stop. Some sort of back up plan would be an idea. I’ve never had one.

What’s the best lunch deal in town? The fruit stall by The Endurance.

Favourite place to stand by? The pub or the corner.

What made you become a courier? I managed to ride a in London for a few years without realising the job existed, then a friend of a girlfriend suggested it. I was on the road a couple of weeks later.

What one thing would improve the quality of your life? My back and knees working properly.

Who’d play you in the film of your life? Someone with massive hands who couldn’t ride a bike in a straight line.

Freedom is… Work on a friday, I get a break from looking after my 3 kids.

You are allowed to pass one new law – what is it? They tend to get ignored don’t they? The road traffic laws at least.

How do you relax? I don’t, I’ve always got stuff i have to do.

What has your been your proudest moment/greatest achievement?_ Dragopoloco, a weekend of racing we had back in 2003 to raise money for the ECMC.
I organised the whole thing pretty much on my own (credit has to go Seb/Nanu for his part).

If you could go back and edit the past is there anything you would change?
More traveling.

What is your earliest memory? Being stung on the nose by a wasp.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever done? My first courier job was pretty bad, I was delivering credit cards, but doing 100-120 drops a day, all in the same postcode and having to carry the whole lot all day. Most of the time I was working in postcodes that were a bit further out so I didn’t see/meet anyone while I was working. I was basically a postie.

How would you like to be remembered? Not too worried, I’m just hoping the kids turn out alright.
