Roller racers rock record crowd

The 3rd Rapha Roller Race, a raucous, rowdy and thouroughly enthralling spectacle, gripped a packed venue in Southwark last night. Over 300 people filled the Imbibe bar to bursting, watching over 50 rock and roller racers spin into the midnight hour.
Taking the top spot in the Team competition, and smashing Simon Jackson’s record, Junior Track World Champion Peter Mitchell of Team Terminator is the new king of the rollers. Agata of Trixie Chix is the new queen of the rollers, beating Kimberley of London Dynamo in the final. London cycle courier Janky James took the Open male competition. Rachel beat Priscilla in the Open female competition.
The top female team was the Fireflies, who added colour, style and speed to the event. The top male team was La Fuga. The best dressed team were the Bankers.
And well done to all the Moving Targets: Charlie (the top man on the night), Overdrive, Dazzler, Nhatt and Chandra. It’s the not the winning, guys, it’s the partaking. Couriers rule, whether in triumph or defeat. Special mention to Janky James for winning some respect for messengers by winning the Open competition.
