Nocturne courier race - entries open
22.05.07 by Buffalo Bill

As reported in MT a couple of weeks ago, there is a courier race at the Smithfield Nocturne race, which is happening on Saturday 23rd June. For more details, see the official web-site. Entries for the team event are now open. Teams of 4 riders will race over a mini-messenger championships course, in a format similar to the team race at 2003 ECMC. The Race Captain is Nelly, who put together the very popular team event in 2003.

So far, the promoters, Face Partnership, have received entries from Cyclone Couriers, Creative Couriers and City Sprint. They tell me that they are looking for 10 teams total. If you want to race, you can get in touch with Fran on 0207 261 1177, or email camillaseers@facepartnership.com. In the first instance they would like to hear from companies, but if there are riders who can’t get on their company’s line-up, they may be able to help you out.

  1. shit, i’m the only cycle on my firm. will anyone mind if i enter a team with 2 motorbikes and a transit?

  2. If you want to race, then find 3 other messengers (or even fakengers?) that haven’t got a team, and it is possible that an arrangement can be made.

  5. any messengers over 30 want to be in a team with me? single speed 26in wheels preferred, no pistas or those fucking specialized things with a bit of black tape over the writing. or anything with condor written on it out of principle.

this would be a lot easier if messengers were friendly and said hello to each other sometimes.

if not i might try and put together a team of ringers. or foppy haired soho media types.
